Mobile Vehicle Technician – Bournville

About the role

Join the RAC’s Service, Maintenance & Repair (SMR) division as a Mobile Vehicle Technician covering the Bournville area. You will work from a fully equipped van, following a digital schedule of pre‑booked appointments, delivering planned servicing and repairs to members’ vehicles at their homes or workplaces.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine servicing and comprehensive vehicle safety checks in line with RAC standards.
• Diagnose faults using advanced mobile diagnostic equipment.
• Carry out in‑depth repairs normally performed in a workshop, including component replacement and system calibrations.
• Provide members with clear advice and recommendations based on inspection findings.
• Manage parts ordering and documentation through the RAC mobile service platform.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with at least 2 years’ experience, or 5 years’ experience as a vehicle technician/mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than six penalty points.
• Ability to work independently, follow a planned schedule and maintain high standards of safety and quality.
