Ocean Freight Planning Coordinator

About the role

Join a leading international freight forwarding provider as an Ocean Freight Planning Coordinator, based in Trafford Park, Manchester. You will coordinate import and export shipments, ensuring efficient movement of goods while maintaining high service standards for customers and overseas partners.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate international import and export shipments from booking through to delivery.
• Arrange transport movements and prepare all associated shipping documentation.
• Plan vehicle loads efficiently and cost‑effectively, collaborating with branches and planning teams.
• Liaise with warehouses, transport providers, overseas offices and internal departments.
• Monitor shipment status and resolve any issues that arise during transit.

Required profile

• Previous experience in freight forwarding, logistics, transport planning or international shipping.
• Good understanding of import and export transport operations.
• Excellent organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Strong communication skills for building relationships across departments and external partners.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to prioritise workload in a fast‑paced operational environment.
• Ability to work independently and contribute positively to a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using freight forwarding or transport management systems.
