About the role
We are seeking an Operational Buyer to join a leading UK manufacturing company’s purchasing team. The role involves driving supplier negotiations, managing contracts and supporting new product development projects across the UK.
Key responsibilities
- Manage supplier portfolios and develop category strategies.
- Negotiate contracts and lead supplier performance reviews.
- Support operational purchasing activities across multiple UK sites.
- Deliver cost savings, monitor cost movements and report results.
- Champion supply‑chain risk reduction and sustainability initiatives.
Required profile
- Proven purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong negotiation and contract management abilities.
- Commercial awareness and MCIPS qualification or progress towards it.
- Confidence working with Excel and conducting supplier analysis.
- Full UK driving licence.
