Operational Management Accountant – Hybrid (Liverpool)

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for a newly qualified Operational Management Accountant to join a global organisation with its headquarters in Liverpool city centre. The role offers hybrid working, exposure to international finance, and close collaboration with operational and technical teams.

Key responsibilities

• Produce monthly management accounts, including cost reviews, accruals, pre‑payments and variance analysis.
• Prepare clear commentary to explain financial performance and drivers.
• Maintain balance‑sheet integrity through reconciliations of accruals, pre‑payments and inventory.
• Support budgeting and forecasting in partnership with international finance teams.
• Assist with quarterly and year‑end reporting requirements.
• Provide guidance to junior finance colleagues and handle ad‑hoc accounting queries.
• Authorise payment runs and contribute to continuous improvement of operational finance processes.

Required profile

• Newly qualified (CIMA/ACCA) or close to qualification.
• Experience in finance or accounts, preferably with management accounting exposure.
• Strong analytical and numerical abilities with high attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills for both finance and non‑finance stakeholders.
• Collaborative mindset with a willingness to take ownership.
