Overnight Helpline Counsellor – Remote (8pm‑8am)

About the role

Join a leading Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) provider as an Overnight Helpline Counsellor. You will work remotely, delivering 24/7 emotional support to callers during the 8 pm‑8 am shift, helping them navigate distress and find immediate solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide telephone counselling to callers on a 24/7 helpline, ensuring a one‑call resolution wherever possible.
• Conduct clinical assessments and sign‑post callers to appropriate services.
• Apply a solution‑focused approach to support individuals in distress or at risk.
• Maintain accurate records of calls and outcomes in line with organisational policies.

Required profile

• Minimum Level 4 Diploma in Counselling with at least 150 counselling hours.
• At least 12 months post‑qualification experience.
• Registered member of the BACP.
• Previous experience working night shifts.

Required skills

• Clinical assessment and risk‑identification.
• Solution‑focused counselling techniques.
• Ability to handle a variety of presenting issues over the phone.
