Paraplanner – Hybrid role in Birmingham

About the role

We are seeking a technically strong Paraplanner to join a well‑established independent financial advice firm in the Midlands. Working hybrid in Birmingham, you will support senior advisers on complex financial planning cases for high‑net‑worth individuals, business owners and corporate clients.

Key responsibilities

• Produce bespoke suitability reports covering pensions, investments, protection and tax planning.
• Conduct technical research across investment platforms, pension providers and financial planning solutions.
• Prepare cash‑flow forecasts to support long‑term financial recommendations.
• Analyse existing client arrangements and formulate appropriate technical recommendations.
• Support advisers with pre‑ and post‑meeting preparation, ensuring FCA compliance.
• Liaise with providers and internal stakeholders to implement recommendations efficiently.

Required profile

• Previous paraplanning experience within an IFA.
• Level 4 Diploma qualified (or working towards Chartered status).
• Strong technical knowledge of pensions, investments, taxation and retirement planning.
• Proven ability to produce high‑quality suitability reports and conduct detailed research.

Required skills

• Voyant cash‑flow modelling software (desirable).
• Intelligent Office back‑office system.
• Xplan platform.
