Part‑time Optometrist – Colchester

About the role

Vision Express is seeking a qualified, GOC‑registered optometrist to join its Colchester store on a part‑time, contractor basis. You will work in a modern, fully refitted test‑room environment within the Lion Walk Centre, delivering high‑quality eye examinations and building patient confidence.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and provide accurate diagnoses.
• Recommend appropriate corrective lenses and other vision solutions.
• Maintain up‑to‑date patient records in line with regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with the retail team to ensure a seamless customer experience.
• Participate in store performance initiatives and sales targets.

Required profile

• Qualified optometrist registered with the General Optical Council (GOC).
• Strong clinical expertise and ability to communicate findings clearly.
• Willingness to work flexible part‑time hours, including potential compressed or alternate‑day schedules.

• Salary up to £75,000 per year (based on experience) plus a £4,000 car allowance.
