Pharmaceutical/Healthcare Sustainability Lead

About the role

The Pharmaceutical/Healthcare Sustainability Lead will shape and drive the environmental strategy for a leading organisation in the pharmaceutical, healthcare and retail eye‑care market. Working closely with senior leaders, external partners and cross‑functional teams, you will translate sustainability goals into measurable actions while operating primarily remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a 3‑year sustainability vision that delivers quantifiable impact across the business.
• Identify improvement opportunities, generate innovative ideas and embed new practices that set industry standards.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to implement net‑zero projects and environmental compliance initiatives.
• Analyse carbon footprints and other sustainability data, turning insights into actionable recommendations for strategic decision‑making.
• Track performance metrics, report progress and influence culture change towards lasting sustainable behaviours.

Required profile

• Proven experience in sustainability management, environmental compliance and net‑zero project delivery, preferably within the healthcare, OTC or pharmaceutical sector.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, inspire and influence cross‑functional teams and external stakeholders.
• Strong analytical mindset with a track record of data‑driven recommendations that shape key decisions.

Required skills

• Proficiency with sustainability assessment tools.
• Experience conducting carbon footprint analysis.
