Pharmacy Technician – Primary Care (Midlothian)

About the role

This position offers a senior pharmacy technician to lead and manage the primary care pharmacy team within Midlothian Health and Social Care Partnership, working closely with advanced clinical pharmacists.

Key responsibilities

• Provide professional leadership and management within the primary care pharmacy team in Midlothian.
• Support and develop General Practice Pharmacy Technicians and pre‑registration technicians.
• Monitor and deliver the medicines efficiencies programme for the partnership.
• Work autonomously to achieve prescribing support objectives and contribute to multidisciplinary GP practice work.
• Generate and manipulate data to inform prescribing initiatives and influence executive colleagues.

Required profile

• Qualified pharmacy technician with relevant experience in primary care or community pharmacy.
• Strong team management and leadership abilities.
• Self‑directed, confident problem‑solver capable of working independently.
• Good knowledge of medicines management and recent developments in GP prescribing.
• Excellent communication, organisational and IT skills.
