Physiotherapist – Wheelchair Service Specialist

About the role

This position is a core member of the Council's Wheelchair Service team, providing specialist physiotherapy expertise to service users with medium to very high mobility needs. You will manage a caseload, conduct clinical assessments and prescribe customised wheelchairs and related equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct weekly clinic assessments, home visits and community venue assessments for wheelchair users.
• Prescribe and tailor wheelchairs and associated equipment to meet individual clinical needs.
• Collaborate with Rehabilitation Engineers and Seating Engineers when specialised solutions are required.
• Serve as the primary contact for service users with queries or concerns, triaging and resolving issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and adhere to HCPC standards.

Required profile

• HCPC registration (essential).
• Full UK driving licence for service vehicle travel.
• Completed Manual Handling training.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Required skills

• Wheelchair assessment and prescription.
