About the role
We are looking for a Portfolio Manager to join our client on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract in London. The role is central to delivering, overseeing and aligning discretionary portfolios, ensuring high‑quality outcomes that match the firm’s investment strategy.
Key responsibilities
- Implement and manage discretionary portfolios across the client base, ensuring consistency of outcomes at scale.
- Conduct regular client portfolio reviews to verify alignment with mandates, risk profiles and the firm’s latest investment views.
- Deliver timely, high‑quality portfolio reviews as part of agreed workflows or in response to specific client or investment solutions requirements.
- Monitor portfolio risks, deviations and outcomes, taking appropriate corrective action when required.
- Own cyclical processes such as annual Capital Gains Tax management and ISA subscriptions, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Identify and drive improvements in process efficiency, scalability and client outcomes.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of market conditions, asset‑allocation views and investment research, contributing ideas to enhance portfolio positioning.
- Lead portfolio‑management projects and support cross‑business initiatives, contributing to tools, processes and governance frameworks.
Required profile
- Proactive, commercially‑minded investment professional with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively with sound judgement.
- Experience in portfolio management, discretionary investment management or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of investment markets, asset allocation and portfolio risk.
- Proven ability to review, monitor and maintain portfolios accurately and consistently.
- Excellent organisational skills for managing cyclical processes and meeting deadlines.
- Confident communicator capable of contributing ideas and feedback.
