PowerBI Developer – Data Modelling & Power Platform

About the role

Our client, an established catering and food service company, is seeking a PowerBI Developer to join their PowerBI Development team in Birmingham. You will be responsible for end‑to‑end Power BI development, creating robust data models and extending solutions with Power Platform workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop Power BI solutions, including semantic models, reports and dashboards that meet business needs across the organisation.
• Write complex DAX calculations, build star‑schema data models and optimise performance and usability.
• Manage projects from requirements gathering and scoping through to deployment and ongoing support.
• Use deployment pipelines and version control to manage environments and releases.
• Build Power Apps and Power Automate flows that integrate Power BI into practical business workflows.

Required profile

• Proven background in PowerBI development and experience with Databricks.
• Strong DAX expertise, including time‑intelligence and advanced calculations.
• Solid understanding of data modelling concepts such as star schemas and dimensional design.
• Experience with Power Query (M) and SQL for data transformation.
• Working knowledge of Power Apps and Power Automate for integrated solutions.
• Strong communication skills.
