Product Developer Leathergoods – 12‑Month Maternity Cover

About the role

Aspinal of London is seeking a curious, proactive and hands‑on Product Developer to join the Leathergoods Product Development team on a 12‑month maternity cover. Reporting to the Head of Product Development, you will support the creation of prototypes from concept through collection sign‑off and final OTD of SMS for seasonal leather goods, working on‑site at the Fernhurst office.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Head of Product Development in delivering prototypes and SMS at all stages, ensuring design briefs and range plan criteria are met.
• Maintain and update the Product Development Bible, track costs, and report price risks.
• Create and manage accurate tech packs, Bill of Materials and CADs, and liaise with suppliers to keep sample timelines on track.
• Lead weekly supplier meetings, coordinate raw material requests, and oversee product testing and wear‑trial surveys.
• Assist in the handover of pricing, collection bible, range boards and SOPs to Production, ensuring timely delivery.

• Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritise, manage own time and work under pressure to meet critical path deadlines.
• Self‑motivated, proactive and able to communicate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
• Strong supplier management skills and willingness to travel as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of company information.
