About the role

We are seeking a GOC‑registered Qualified Dispensing Optician to join a large, established optical practice in North Manchester. The role offers a friendly, supportive environment with fixed working days and no late‑night shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Provide accurate, patient‑focused dispensing services, taking precise measurements and reducing avoidable remakes.
• Understand each patient’s lifestyle, prescription and visual requirements to recommend suitable frames, lenses, coatings and additional options.
• Explain product features and benefits clearly, supporting both complex and higher‑value prescriptions.
• Offer technical guidance to patients and colleagues while contributing to practice performance targets.
• Maintain high professional and clinical standards and build long‑term trusted relationships with patients.

Required profile

• Fully qualified Dispensing Optician, registered with the GOC.
• Minimum 12 months recent experience in a UK optical practice.
• Patient‑focused, needs‑led approach with strong commercial awareness.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Positive, flexible, team‑oriented attitude and availability to work Saturdays.
