Sales Manager – FMCG (Hybrid, Manchester Area)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Sales Manager to lead new‑business development within the FMCG sector. Based in the Manchester area with a hybrid working pattern, you will combine strategic thinking with hands‑on selling to grow revenue across foodservice, wholesale, retail and distribution channels.

Key responsibilities

• Generate new business across wholesale, foodservice, retail and distribution sectors.
• Grow revenue within existing accounts through cross‑selling and upselling.
• Negotiate pricing while protecting margins in collaboration with Finance.
• Identify opportunities to move slow‑moving stock by recommending alternative products.
• Maintain an accurate sales pipeline, CRM activity, forecasting and reporting.
• Lead, coach and develop a team of Sales Executives, with scope to expand.
• Work closely with Supply Chain and Operations to ensure exceptional customer service.

Required profile

• Proven experience in B2B sales and product sales within the FMCG industry.
• Track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and building customer relationships.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to negotiate pricing and protect margins.
• Experience managing or mentoring a small sales team.
• Ability to work autonomously and shape a sales strategy.
