Schools Finance Officer – Birmingham (Hybrid, 6‑Month Contract)

About the role
We are recruiting four Schools Finance Officers on a six‑month contract to support schools and academies across Birmingham. The role is hybrid, requiring regular travel to sites and a full UK driving licence.
Key responsibilities
- Provide financial advice and support to schools and academies to ensure effective budget management.
- Conduct budget planning, financial monitoring visits and produce accurate reports for governing bodies and senior leadership.
- Attend and present at Governing Body and Finance Committee meetings.
- Support schools with financial systems, data interpretation and process improvements.
- Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and ensure service delivery meets SLA and contract requirements.
Required profile
- Detail‑oriented finance professional with proven experience in school financial management.
- Strong understanding of school funding, budgeting and finance systems.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across Birmingham.
