SEMH Teaching Assistant – Support Neurodivergent Students

About the role
We are seeking a compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 4‑16 at a specialist school in Stretford, Manchester. You will work closely with students who have social, emotional, mental health and neurodivergent needs, helping them achieve their best academically and socially.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to students with SEMH and neurodivergence.
- Implement tailored learning strategies and adapt activities to individual needs.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents and external professionals to monitor progress.
- Promote a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
Required profile
- Genuine passion for supporting students with SEMH.
- Experience or background working with neurodivergent learners (preferred).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, resilience and a nurturing approach.
Required skills
- Knowledge of SEMH and neurodivergent learning strategies.
