SEND Teaching Assistant – Primary

About the role

Our welcoming primary school in Birmingham is looking for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join our specialist hub. You will work with a small group of 5‑8 pupils across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, supporting children with autism, ADHD and social communication difficulties.

Key responsibilities

• Support pupils through small‑group activities and targeted interventions.
• Assist with behaviour regulation and provide emotional support.
• Help maintain a structured, engaging classroom environment.
• Collaborate closely with the class teacher, another TA and the wider SEND team.
• Provide feedback and observations to track pupil progress.

Required profile

• Experience supporting children with SEND, especially autism or ADHD.
• Patient, resilient and positive attitude.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build supportive relationships.
• Genuine passion for helping pupils with additional needs.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
