Senior Adult Social Worker – Early Support

About the role

Our client, Manchester City Council, is seeking a Senior Adult Social Worker to join the Early Support team. The role involves delivering high‑quality social work services to the most complex cases, safeguarding vulnerable adults and coordinating care plans across partner agencies.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out social work duties, including care coordination, for complex adult cases.
• Lead safeguarding processes, identify risks and develop solutions to protect vulnerable residents.
• Represent the Council at meetings, proceedings and reviews with partner agencies.
• Produce high‑quality documentation, reports and statutory data within required timescales.
• Develop and maintain relationships with external agencies to ensure access to appropriate services.
• Contribute to team and service development, promoting innovative practices.

Required profile

• Qualified social worker with extensive experience in adult safeguarding.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex cases and work collaboratively with partners.
• Strong commitment to continuous professional development and service improvement.
• Ability to promote diversity and ensure equal access to services.

Required skills

• Knowledge of safeguarding legislation and best practice.
• Experience with care coordination and case management.
• Proficiency in preparing statutory reports and documentation.
