Senior Credit Officer – Financial Sponsors (Hybrid)

About the role

The Senior Credit Officer will lead independent assessment, approval and ongoing management of credit risk for a portfolio of Financial Sponsor clients. Working within a hybrid model, you will split time between office and remote work while influencing sector strategy and supporting sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and approve credit proposals across subscription finance, NAV lending, derivatives and liquidity products.
• Shape sector strategy, risk appetite, policy and portfolio management practices.
• Exercise delegated credit authority and deputise for the Sector Head as required.
• Provide independent challenge and sound judgement on complex transactions.
• Support senior governance forums and act as a subject‑matter expert.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in credit risk within Financial Sponsors or similar banking environments.
• Strong commercial acumen balanced with disciplined risk management.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive policy development.
• Leadership capability to act as a senior decision‑maker and mentor junior staff.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of credit risk assessment methodologies.
• Understanding of subscription finance, NAV lending, derivatives and liquidity products.
• Experience with portfolio management and risk appetite setting.
