Senior Employee Relations Advisor (6‑month FTC)

About the role

This 6‑month fixed‑term position supports a large international college in London. You will act as a senior HR advisor, partnering with managers to resolve complex employee‑relations issues, ensure legal compliance, and drive people‑focused change.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert advice on absence, performance, conduct, capability, redundancy and grievance cases.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of employment law and case law.
• Develop, update and maintain HR policies and procedures, ensuring safeguarding compliance.
• Design and deliver HR process training, webinars and written guidance for managers.
• Support performance and development processes, offering feedback to managers.
• Contribute to employee‑engagement initiatives, including the annual survey.
• Assist with organisational redesigns and change‑management programmes.

Required profile

• Significant experience as an HR Advisor in medium‑to‑large organisations (500+ staff).
• Proven track record handling complex employee‑relations cases.
• Experience in the education sector is desirable but not mandatory.
• Strong judgement underpinned by thorough knowledge of employment law.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
