Senior Engineering Manager

About the role

Checkout.com is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Disputes team in London. You will own the delivery of a full‑stack platform that helps merchants manage and win chargeback disputes at scale, combining .NET back‑end services, React front‑ends and machine‑learning models.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a multidisciplinary team building a .NET/C# back‑end, React front‑end and ML components, ensuring sound architecture and user‑centric design.
• Drive predictable, high‑velocity delivery by establishing engineering practices, accurate estimation and smooth production pipelines.
• Automate monitoring, alerting and operational processes to meet SLAs/SLOs, reduce toil and improve reliability.
• Oversee quarterly roadmap execution, manage dependencies and collaborate with product and operations.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal control frameworks, and govern responsible use of ML in production.

Required profile

• Resilient leader who thrives in fast‑moving, ambiguous environments and can keep teams steady through setbacks.
• Proven track record of building and sustaining high‑performing engineering teams in both enterprise and scale‑up settings.
• Strong back‑end engineering background, preferably with .NET/C# and event‑driven, microservice architectures.
• Experience delivering reliable, cost‑effective services at scale and using metrics to improve delivery.
