Senior Environmental Consultant

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Environmental Consultant to lead compliance and sustainability projects for a specialist consultancy. The position is primarily remote, with UK-wide travel to client sites, allowing you to act as a trusted adviser while improving organisations' environmental performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead environmental compliance and sustainability projects from inception to completion.
• Deliver legal compliance audits, risk assessments and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System programmes.
• Prepare environmental permit applications and supporting documentation.
• Provide expert advice on UK environmental legislation and best practice.
• Act as an outsourced Environmental Manager for client organisations.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, regulators and key stakeholders.
• Produce technical reports, documentation and compliance advice.
• Mentor junior colleagues and support business development through proposals and tenders.

Required profile

• Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in environmental consultancy or compliance.
• Strong knowledge of UK environmental legislation.
• Experience delivering ISO 14001 EMS and environmental audits.
• Proven project management and client‑facing abilities.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills.
• Lead Auditor qualification (preferred).
