Senior Legal Advisor – Employment Law

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Legal Advisor to join our well‑established Legal Services team in Manchester. You will work on a broad range of employment and industrial law matters, providing high‑quality advice and representation in a supportive, progressive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality advice and representation on employment and industrial law matters.
• Assess applications for legal assistance and advise on the merits of potential Employment Tribunal claims.
• Support officials with employment casework and industrial relations issues.
• Prepare and manage Employment Tribunal cases from inception through to conclusion.
• Oversee cases conducted by external panel solicitors.
• Supervise and support Employment Law Advisors within the team.
• Assist senior stakeholders with complex casework and legal advice as required.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, CILEX professional, or qualified by experience with a strong background in employment law.
• Experience advising and representing clients in Employment Tribunal matters.
• Advocacy experience or willingness to undertake tribunal advocacy.
• Strong knowledge of employment law and tribunal procedures.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Experience supervising or supporting junior colleagues is advantageous.
