Senior Manager – Finance Optimisation (FAAS) – London/Reading/Manchester

About the role

EY is seeking a Finance Optimisation professional to join its Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) team. The role supports CFOs and finance functions in navigating complex accounting, finance, and reporting challenges through innovative policies, processes, data, and technology.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end delivery of both physical and virtual projects, assessing risks and driving optimal outcomes.
• Develop high‑quality reports and presentations (PowerPoint, Word) that capture problem statements, solutions, and recommendations.
• Oversee internal financial, quality, and risk management on client engagements.
• Foster the development of functional and technical skills within the FAAS team, promoting high‑performance and inclusive behaviours.
• Lead business development activities, preparing proposals and expanding relationships with new and existing clients.
• Build strong internal and external networks to enhance collaboration for EY clients.
• Champion innovation based on client experience, market trends, and service‑line insights.

Required profile

• Accountancy qualification (ACA, CPA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent.
• Background in financial reporting, assurance, or audit.
• Extensive experience in assurance, consulting, or transformation roles within Big 4, consulting firms, or industry.
• Hands‑on experience with accounting and finance processes such as Record‑to‑Report, financial and non‑financial reporting, financial close, consolidation, and reporting.
• Experience in business and finance transformation and change initiatives.
