Senior Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Our client, a leading engineering consultancy, is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their Manchester team. You will lead the delivery of mechanical building services design projects from concept through to completion, collaborating closely with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Produce technical designs, calculations and detailed documentation for mechanical building services.
• Coordinate project delivery, ensuring timelines, budgets and quality standards are met.
• Attend client and contractor meetings, reviewing and commenting on submitted information.
• Support on‑site activities, including inspections and problem solving.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers within the team.

Required profile

• Degree‑qualified in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.
• Working towards or holding professional accreditation (IEng/CEng preferred).
• Strong experience in HVAC design.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
• Proven ability to lead projects and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication, technical and commercial awareness.
• Willingness to support and develop junior team members.
