Senior Merchandiser

About the role

We are partnering with a market‑leading, multi‑brand retailer in Manchester to hire an experienced Senior Merchandiser. The business is undergoing a rapid transformation, offering a unique chance to shape trading strategy and drive growth while working with a supportive, ambitious team.

Key responsibilities

• Own sales, stock and intake strategy for assigned categories, ensuring commercial robustness and alignment with business targets.
• Lead weekly and seasonal trade analysis, spot risks and opportunities, and drive decisive actions.
• Partner with Buying to shape range architecture, open‑to‑buy (OTB) and future range planning.
• Manage markdown, promotional and clearance strategies to protect margin and maximise sell‑through.
• Coach and develop an Assistant Merchandiser/Merchandiser within the team.
• Build strong cross‑functional relationships across Buying, Planning, Supply Chain and Retail.
• Present clear trade updates and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Contribute to wider transformation initiatives, bringing fresh thinking to established processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Merchandiser or Senior Merchandiser in a fashion retail environment.
• Commercially sharp, analytical thinker capable of turning data into confident trading decisions.
• Resilient and adaptable, able to thrive in a fast‑paced, change‑driven setting.
• Natural leader who can influence senior stakeholders and develop junior team members.
• Enthusiastic about shaping and improving processes, not just following them.
