Senior Neonatology Doctor – Locally Employed

About the role
This permanent, locally‑employed position is based in the tertiary‑level NICU at St Mary’s Hospital, Oxford Road campus. It offers extensive exposure to high‑risk obstetric and neonatal care, supporting trainees, fellows and post‑CCT doctors aiming to specialise in Neonatal Medicine.
Key responsibilities
- Provide clinical service in Neonatal Medicine and Surgery across NICU, labour ward and postnatal wards.
- Resuscitate and manage extremely preterm, complex surgical and specialist medical infants.
- Oversee infants in intensive care, high‑dependency and special‑care settings.
- Conduct neonatal outpatient follow‑up and attend deliveries as required.
- Participate in multidisciplinary antenatal counselling and planning meetings.
- Contribute to NICU education programmes, supporting junior doctors, nurse practitioners and physician associates.
- Engage in risk‑management, guideline development, research and audit activities.
Required profile
- Minimum six months’ experience in a tertiary neonatal unit in the UK or Ireland.
- Full MRCPCH qualification or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Suitable for trainees, fellows or post‑CCT candidates with a strong interest in tertiary Neonatal Medicine.
