Senior Quality Engineer (SQE) - Manufacturing & Heavy Machining

About the role

Join a global leader in the energy sector as a Senior Quality Engineer (SQE) at our LSS Newcastle site. In this strategic role, you will support the Head of QEHS in maintaining, developing, and continuously improving our Quality Management System (QMS) within a high-precision heavy manufacturing and machining environment.

Main Missions

• Drive the maintenance and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO 9001 and Siemens Energy standards.
• Lead structured problem-solving initiatives and engineering quality activities, including documentation reviews.
• Conduct internal and process audits to ensure full compliance with internal procedures and customer requirements.
• Collaborate closely with the Supply Chain to manage supplier quality through assessments, approvals, audits, and inspections.
• Develop and revise critical inspection plans (ITP, MITP) and provide in-process production support through real-time audits.
• Maintain rigorous quality documentation and customer records while supporting the digital transformation of quality reporting and performance tracking systems.

Profile sought

• Proven experience as a Quality Engineer, ideally within heavy manufacturing, machining, or large-scale industrial environments.
• Strong expertise in ISO 9001 standards and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
• Demonstrated ability in structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, Root Cause Analysis).
• Excellent auditing skills (internal and supplier audits).
• Ability to work cross-functionally with production, supply chain, and engineering teams.
