Senior Quantity Surveyor – Commercial Lead for High‑Rise Residential

About the role

Randstad is seeking a Commercial Lead / Senior Quantity Surveyor to take immediate ownership of a major high‑rise residential tower scheme in Welwyn Garden City. The project is live and moving into the procurement phase, requiring a seasoned professional who can manage both pre‑construction and post‑construction activities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the procurement process, including package scoping, subcontractor awards and contract negotiations.
• Oversee site execution, manage CVRs, variations and final accounts to ensure commercial targets are met.
• Provide commercial guidance throughout the project lifecycle, from early procurement to handover.

Required profile

• Extensive experience working directly with Tier 1 main contractors.
• Proven track record delivering high‑rise residential tower developments.
• Full pre‑ and post‑construction experience, from early procurement to final accounts.
• Deep practical knowledge of JCT Design & Build contracts.
• Demonstrated long‑term stability with Tier 1 employers or a history of reliable commercial performance on complex residential schemes.
