Senior Recovery Worker – Mental Health Support

About the role

Hestia is seeking a Senior Recovery Worker to join its Mental Health service in Brent. You will lead a caseload of clients needing crisis de‑escalation, early intervention and preventative support, while guiding junior staff and volunteers.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a diverse caseload, including complex and high‑risk mental health cases.
• Conduct risk assessments, develop safety plans and coordinate multi‑agency interventions.
• Provide senior point‑of‑support for Recovery Workers, Peer Support Workers, volunteers and placement students.
• Lead shifts in the absence of the Service Manager.
• Build and maintain partnerships with NHS, local authorities and community organisations.
• Deliver group programmes and contribute to service improvement initiatives.
• Monitor quality standards and support recruitment, training and ongoing service development.

Required profile

• Extensive experience supporting individuals with mental health difficulties, dual diagnosis and complex needs.
• Proven ability to manage high‑risk cases and coordinate multi‑agency responses.
• Experience providing guidance, coaching or informal supervision to colleagues, students or volunteers.
• Excellent communication and partnership‑building skills in fast‑paced environments.

Required skills

• Knowledge of trauma‑informed practice, recovery‑focused approaches and safeguarding.
• Understanding of the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act.
• Experience conducting risk assessments and creating safety plans.
• Ability to collaborate with healthcare professionals, crisis services and community organisations.
