Senior UX Researcher

About the role

AJ Bell is seeking a Senior UX Researcher to shape the future of its Direct‑to‑Consumer (D2C) experience. Reporting to the UX Research Lead, you will lead high‑impact research projects, work closely with product and design teams, and help translate customer insights into strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end UX research across complex, high‑risk problem spaces within the D2C proposition.
• Translate product, customer and business challenges into clear research approaches.
• Design and deliver qualitative and mixed‑method studies using the most appropriate techniques.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, UX Designers and stakeholders to ensure insights inform decisions.
• Support colleagues in planning and conducting research where additional expertise is needed.
• Communicate findings clearly, outlining evidence, implications, risks, opportunities and trade‑offs.
• Contribute research outputs to a shared repository and promote reusable customer knowledge.
• Uphold high standards of research quality, ethics and customer‑centred thinking.

Required profile

• Significant experience planning and delivering UX research end‑to‑end in product, service or digital environments.
• Strong qualitative research expertise with a proven ability to tackle complex or ambiguous challenges.
• Ability to select and apply appropriate research methods based on problem needs rather than personal preference.
• Excellent synthesis and storytelling skills to translate data into actionable insights.
