Social Worker - Children with Disabilities

About the role
Our client Tameside MBC is seeking a Social Worker to join the Children with Disabilities team in Manchester. The role involves working directly with children, young people and families to assess needs, develop care plans and ensure safeguarding.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and young people with disabilities.
- Develop and review individual care plans in partnership with families.
- Carry out safeguarding duties and statutory interventions where required.
- Provide ongoing support to promote positive outcomes and enable children to reach their full potential.
- Maintain accurate records and produce reports in line with local authority standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies.
Required profile
- Qualified Social Worker with experience in children and disability services.
- Demonstrated commitment to child‑centred, high‑quality practice.
- Willingness to work a hybrid schedule (one day remote per week).
- Ability to register with Remedy for locum positions and undergo an enhanced DBS check.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
