Sous Chef – Premium British Gastropub (West London)

About the role

We are seeking a passionate Sous Chef to join a busy West London gastropub known for its fresh, seasonal British cuisine. You will work in a high‑volume kitchen that values quality, consistency, and hospitality.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations and service delivery.
• Lead, motivate and organise the kitchen team during service.
• Maintain high food standards, presentation, and portion control.
• Work with fresh, seasonal British ingredients to create menu items.
• Assist with stock control, ordering, and gross profit (GP) management.
• Ensure HACCP and food‑safety standards are consistently met.
• Develop junior chefs through coaching and training.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous in a quality fresh‑food environment.
• Background in gastropubs, premium pubs, British restaurants, or independent quality groups.
• Passion for seasonal British produce and high‑quality cooking.
• Stable employment history and ability to work under pressure.
• Strong communication and kitchen leadership abilities.
