Staff Nurse – Childhood Immunisations

About the role

This permanent Band 5 position joins the Children & Families Health team at Ayrshire Central Hospital, delivering routine childhood immunisation programmes across North Ayrshire. You will work within a supportive, collaborative environment to promote the health and wellbeing of children, young people and their families.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and record routine childhood immunisations for the North Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership.
• Provide high‑quality nursing care, advice and support to children, young people, parents and carers.
• Work as an integral member of the integrated Children and Families Health Team, following the GIRFEC (Getting it Right for Every Child) model.
• Collaborate with multi‑disciplinary professionals to ensure safe and effective service delivery.
• Promote health education and encourage uptake of immunisation programmes.

Required profile

• First‑level registered nurse (Band 5).
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Experience working with children, families and community health settings.
• Evidence of ongoing professional development.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a multi‑disciplinary team.
