Supply Teacher – Day-to-Day Work in East London

About the role

Prospero Teaching is seeking enthusiastic supply teachers to cover short‑term absences in secondary schools across East London. This day‑to‑day position offers immediate start dates and flexible assignments, allowing you to gain varied classroom experience while supporting student learning.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise classes during the temporary absence of the regular teacher.
• Maintain a positive learning environment and manage classroom behaviour.
• Follow lesson plans and teaching materials prepared by the regular teacher.
• Assist students with coursework, answer questions, and provide additional support as needed.
• Ensure the classroom remains safe, orderly, and conducive to learning.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with young people, preferably in an educational setting.
• Strong classroom management abilities.
• Flexibility to work in different schools and classrooms on short notice.
• Willingness to undergo a DBS check (or hold a valid one).
