Support Worker – Mental Health Social Care (Part‑time)

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate and resilient Support Worker to join our Mental Health Social Care Service in Tower Hamlets, East London. This part‑time position offers 26 hours per week across two 13‑hour shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.

Key responsibilities

  • Build supportive, trusting relationships with service users and create a positive environment.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to manage caseloads and complete administrative duties.
  • Deliver innovative key work sessions aimed at achieving individual goals.
  • Assess and manage risks using a positive risk‑taking approach.
  • Assist users with daily living activities such as budgeting, cooking, and establishing routines.
  • Support the maintenance of a clean and healthy living environment, including personal hygiene.
  • Record and report incidents, manage referrals, complete assessments and maintain required documentation.

Required profile

  • Legally eligible to work in the UK without the need for sponsorship.
  • Available for two 13‑hour shifts per week and able to attend Friday team meetings.
  • Compassionate, resilient and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

Required skills

  • Experience in mental health or social care support.
  • Ability to conduct risk assessments and develop care plans.
  • Competence in supporting daily living activities and promoting independence.
