Team Manager - Children with Disabilities

About the role

Our client, Tameside MBC, is seeking an experienced Team Manager to lead its Children with Disabilities service in Manchester. The role involves overseeing a dedicated team of social workers to ensure high‑quality case management, safeguarding, and care planning for children with disabilities and their families.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of social workers delivering disability services.
• Oversee case management, safeguarding procedures and care planning.
• Promote innovative practice and partnership working with external agencies.
• Ensure compliance with Social Work England registration and regulatory standards.
• Monitor service performance and drive improvements to outcomes.

Required profile

• Qualified social worker with registration on Social Work England.
• Proven experience in managing a social work team, preferably within disability services.
• Strong leadership, communication and partnership skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable children.

Required skills

• Social work qualification.
• Registration with Social Work England.
