Technical Architect Director

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Technical Architect Director to lead the architectural strategy, governance, and technical direction of its Client Solutions within the Payment Networks Technology division. The role focuses on delivering scalable, secure, resilient, and high‑performing solutions that meet client needs and leverage Mastercard’s product portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to the Client Solutions Architecture function, ensuring architectural excellence.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Client Solutions Architects, handling performance management and succession planning.
• Collaborate with Product Management, clients, senior architects, and other stakeholders to define and deliver solutions aligned with business and technology objectives.
• Act as a senior subject‑matter expert for client solutions and drive client technology roadmaps.
• Lead innovation initiatives across Real‑Time Payments and Value‑Added Services, identifying market opportunities and emerging technologies.

Required profile

• Significant experience in a technical capacity within a commercial software product organisation or ISV.
• Proven track record leading system architecture for large‑scale, distributed systems.
• Strong communication skills to convey complex architectural concepts to technical and non‑technical audiences, including senior executives.
• Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and influence product strategy.
