Tour Operator Travel Consultant

About the role

Join a leading specialist travel company as a Travel Consultant within the Tour Operations team. You will work from a hybrid Birmingham office to design and sell specialist group tours across the UK, Europe and beyond, delivering a highly personalised, consultative sales experience.

Key responsibilities

• Manage inbound sales enquiries and repeat customers with a relationship‑led approach.
• Understand customers' travel needs and recommend suitable tour options.
• Build trust and confidence, converting enquiries into high‑quality bookings.
• Maintain accurate CRM records to support service delivery.
• Collaborate with Product and Operations teams to ensure sold holidays are deliverable.
• Contribute ideas to improve conversion rates, customer experience and sales processes.
• Take ownership of personal performance, learning and development.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a target‑driven, relationship‑focused sales role, preferably with phone‑based selling.
• Ability to listen carefully, match customers to the right holiday and build long‑term relationships.
• Travel industry experience is desirable but not essential.
• Strong communication skills and a customer‑centric mindset.

Required skills

• CRM (experience maintaining accurate records).

• Competitive starting salary up to £28,000 per year plus commission (OTE £38,000).
