Trainee Water Hygiene Technician

About the role

We are seeking a conscientious Trainee Water Hygiene Technician to join our client’s team in the West Midlands. The role involves on‑site water hygiene monitoring, system cleaning and disinfection, and supporting remedial works across a range of domestic and commercial water systems.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out temperature checks, dip‑slide and bacteriological sampling of water systems.
• Inspect and clean cold‑water storage tanks, hot‑water calorifiers and shower heads, including dismantling, descaling, disinfection and re‑assembly.
• Clean and disinfect cooling towers, humidifiers and other heating/cooling plant.
• Assist with remedial works on domestic, industrial and process water systems.
• Operate water‑treatment dosing equipment and perform chemical dosing to specified levels.
• Conduct closed‑system testing of commercial and domestic water installations.

Required profile

• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly within Berkshire and the West Midlands.
• Reliable, hardworking and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Physically fit to handle demanding manual tasks.
• Open to candidates with or without prior experience; full training will be provided.
