About the role

We are seeking a proactive Underwriter to join a leading global insurer’s regional team in Birmingham. The role focuses on new‑business opportunities across Property & Casualty and Financial Lines, offering real underwriting authority and strong broker relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and underwrite new business risks in Property & Casualty and Financial Lines.
• Make independent underwriting decisions and set pricing within delegated authority.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key strategic brokers.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure profitable portfolio growth.
• Identify market opportunities and contribute to business development initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven underwriting experience in Property & Casualty or Financial Lines.
• Strong broker trading skills and a commercial mindset.
• Confidence, credibility and the ability to build lasting relationships.
• Ambitious attitude with a desire to grow and make an impact.
