Academy Manager – Football Academy

About the role

We are seeking an Academy Manager to lead the strategic development of our talent pathway (U8‑U21) and ensure a steady flow of players ready for the Women’s First Team. You will champion a high‑performance culture while delivering a top‑quality technical and educational programme.

Key responsibilities

• Design and oversee the Academy game model, curriculum and technical programme across all age groups.
• Collaborate with the Player Pathway Manager to create long‑term development plans (12, 24, 48‑month horizons).
• Line‑manage phase leads for Foundation, Youth Development and Professional Development, ensuring best‑in‑class player development.
• Oversee Medical and Performance Leads to provide individualized care and physical development support.
• Manage the Operations Lead to ensure smooth running of Academy and Development Centre activities.
• Develop and execute a talent acquisition strategy in partnership with First Team staff.
• Maintain compliance with FA, WSL and Premier League regulations, manage audits, budgets and contribute to Technical Board reviews.
• Foster an inclusive, diverse, high‑performance culture for players and staff.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing a football academy or similar youth development programme.
• Strong leadership and people‑management skills.
• Excellent understanding of player pathway planning and talent identification.
• Commitment to safeguarding and inclusion.
