Assistant Transport Enforcement & Investigations Manager

About the role

The Assistant Transport Enforcement & Investigations Manager supports the Central Investigations Team at Transport for London, providing first‑line supervision to Enforcement and Investigations Officers. The role focuses on improving compliance, safety and customer service across the network through proactive investigations and enforcement actions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of Transport Enforcement and Investigations Officers, ensuring high investigative standards and customer service.
• Act as the first point of contact for health and safety issues, escalating when necessary.
• Monitor staff performance, attendance and maintain accurate records.
• Task and deploy resources effectively across the Central Investigations Team.
• Liaise with trade union representatives to resolve day‑to‑day issues promptly.
• Ensure all enforcement activities are legal, ethical and align with TfL’s Enforcement policy.
• Manage officer workloads and guarantee the quality of reports for enforcement actions.
• Support intelligence‑led enforcement by analysing information and contributing to tasking and deployment.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to manage and develop a team in a public‑service environment.
• Strong understanding of health and safety procedures and the ability to enforce them.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with officers, unions and senior management.
• Analytical mindset with experience in handling investigative data and reports.
