Backend Software Engineer C# .Net – FinTech

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer to join a fast‑growing FinTech scale‑up in Newcastle. You will work on the core platform within a Microsoft environment, using the latest C# .Net technologies to deliver high‑quality, impactful solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with a small, talented team to design, develop, and maintain the core platform.
• Take ownership of technical projects across the full development lifecycle.
• Translate business requirements into robust, scalable code.
• Contribute to the evolution of the product as the company scales.

Required profile

• Minimum 2.1 BSc in Computer Science or a related discipline from a top‑tier/Russell Group university.
• Strong academic record (A‑levels A’s).
• Passion for solving complex, distributed system challenges.
• Enthusiastic about shaping a start‑up environment.

Required skills

• Modern C# .Net Core development.
• Python (beneficial).
• Solid understanding of OOP, data structures, design patterns, and algorithms.
• Experience with modern software engineering best practices and the full software development lifecycle.
