Band 5 Paediatric Staff Nurse – Ward 3B (Full‑time)

About the role

This permanent, full‑time position is for a Band 5 paediatric staff nurse on Ward 3B at the Royal Hospital for Children. You will join a 24‑bed unit caring for surgical and gastro‑enterology patients, gaining extensive learning opportunities within a supportive multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality, family‑centred nursing care to children with varying dependency levels.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care in partnership with patients, families and the MDT.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure documentation meets required standards.
• Delegate tasks appropriately, considering staff capability and skill mix.
• Support junior staff and contribute to the development of care programmes.
• Collaborate with hospital and community services to ensure seamless, patient‑centred care.

Required profile

• Registered nurse with a valid/live NMC PIN.
• Paediatric training and experience.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
