BIM Technician

About the role

The BIM Technician will support water and wastewater treatment projects across the Bournemouth, Poole and South Dorset area. Working from Bristol, you will ensure BIM and digital outputs are integrated throughout each project lifecycle, from concept design to commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Produce and quality‑check CAD/BIM design data in line with company standards.
• Use 3D modelling for design collaboration, clash detection, asset data capture and cost estimation.
• Develop and maintain the common data environment (Autodesk Construction Cloud/BIM 360).
• Create a standardised BIM element library to promote model reuse and low‑carbon solutions.
• Manage cyber‑security aspects of CAD/BIM data and access.
• Validate and integrate supplier BIM models into project models.
• Support designers in balancing time, cost and quality constraints.
• Promote safety, wellbeing, environmental and sustainability considerations within BIM outputs.
• Provide guidance to less experienced BIM technicians and help project teams understand BIM processes.

Required profile

• Recognised qualification in CAD, BIM or a related field.
• Proficiency with Autodesk authoring tools such as Revit, Civil 3D or AutoCAD.
• Experience authoring 3D models within Autodesk Construction Cloud/BIM 360.
• Understanding of ISO 19650 information‑management principles.
