Architectural Manager – Central Government Projects

About the role

Mace is seeking an Architectural Manager to join its central government team. You will support lead designers on a portfolio of new builds, extensions, remodels and refurbishments ranging from £500k to £250m, working across the UK.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage pre‑construction design packages.
• Provide technical advisory support post‑tender.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams, client personnel and construction crews.
• Prepare and present reporting information and attend client meetings and design workshops.
• Monitor work outputs for timeliness, scope and quality.
• Contribute to net‑zero carbon transition initiatives and manage associated emissions.

Required profile

• Part 3 qualified architect, registered with ARB or CIAT.
• Experience delivering public and private sector projects within a multidisciplinary consultancy environment.
• Strong digital proficiency, especially with BIM and Revit.
• Commitment to safety, client focus, integrity and continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Revit proficiency.
• BIM expertise.
• Knowledge of ISO 19650 standards.
• Understanding of the Building Safety Act.
