Clinical Lead Mental Health Homicide Investigation

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and credible Mental Health professional to join the Midlands Clinical Quality and Safety Governance Delivery Team as a Clinical Lead for Mental Health Homicide Independent Investigations. This specialist role provides expert clinical advice, professional oversight and an independent clinical perspective to support statutory Mental Health Homicide investigations across the Midlands.

Key responsibilities

• Work alongside senior clinical and quality leaders to contribute to robust investigation processes and support objective review of complex cases.
• Translate learning from investigations into meaningful improvements in patient safety, quality of care and system‑wide quality improvement.

Required profile

• Extensive clinical experience within Mental Health services.
• Expertise in patient safety, quality governance and incident investigation.
• Ability to provide objective, independent clinical scrutiny of complex cases.
• Strong communication, analytical and report‑writing skills.
• Commitment to improving outcomes and reducing inequalities through shared learning.
