Pharmacy Dispensing Assistant

About the role

Our store pharmacy supports the health and wellbeing of the local community. As a Pharmacy Dispensing Assistant you will work alongside pharmacists to accurately label, assemble and dispense prescribed medicines, ensuring safe and compassionate care for customers.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with customers, guiding them to take medication safely and answering queries with a warm, helpful attitude.
• Label, assemble and perform first accuracy checks on prescribed items, supporting the safe and legal operation of the pharmacy.
• Deliver in‑store health services such as blood pressure checks, specialised fittings and prescription hand‑outs in line with company procedures.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures, data security rules and stock management routines to maintain availability and minimise waste.

Required profile

• Completed an approved Pharmacy Dispensing Assistant course (e.g., NPA DAC) and committed to an approved Pharmacy Technician/Accuracy Checking qualification (e.g., BTEC Diploma Level 3).
• Registered (or actively working towards registration) as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
• Caring attitude with enthusiasm for delivering pharmacy services and supporting team goals.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends, to keep the pharmacy running smoothly.

Required skills

• Dispensing medicines and performing accuracy checks.
• Knowledge of pharmacy SOPs, data security and stock management.
